U.S. Authors Dominate Dylan Thomas Prize Shortlist

Six U.S. authors have been shortlisted for the £20,000 the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize, which honors a book written by an author under the age of 39. This year’s winner will be revealed at a virtual ceremony on 13 May, the eve of International Dylan Thomas Day.

The shortlisted books and authors are:

  • Alligator and Other Stories by Dima Alzayat (Picador)
  • Kingdomtide by Rye Curtis (HarperCollins)
  • The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi (Riverhead)
  • Pew by Catherine Lacey (Granta)
  • Luster by Raven Leilani (FSG)
  • My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell (HarperCollins)
