Von Drasek Zoom Memorial Scheduled for June 29
Rain Taxi, the Twin Cities literary organization that sponsors the Twin Cities Book Festival and publishes Rain Taxi Review of Books, is honoring its late board chair, Paul Von Drasek on Tuesday, June 29, with a Zoom memorial to be held at 5:30 p.m. ET. Von Drasek, 71, a retired publishing industry executive who worked in the sales departments of a number of major publishing houses, died at home in St. Paul, Minn., on May 16, of natural causes. Rain Taxi asks that anyone who has registered to attend the memorial and wants to share their memories of Von Drasek keep their remarks to under three minutes. The virtual event will be recorded and shared with Von Drasek’s family, including his widow, Lisa Von Drasek, curator of the Children’s Literature Research Collections at the University of Minnesota Libraries.
