SPX 2015 Adds Cartoonists Derf, Abel, Rall to Show Lineup

SPX, the annual indie comics festival, announced additional guests for this year’s show slated September 19-20 in Bethesda, Md. Cartoonists Derf Backderf, Jessica Abel and Ted Rall will appear in addition to previously announced guests Noelle Stevenson, Kate Beaton, Matt Bors and Scott McCloud.

SPX, aka The Small Press Expo, is one of the country’s premier events for independent and small press comics. SPX brings together more than 650 creators, nearly 300 exhibitors and 22 programming events focused on comics and graphic novels over the weekend of Sept. 19-20.

Other cartoonists slated to appear include C. Spike Trotman, Jennifer Hayden, Lilli Carré, Noah Van Sciver, Bill Griffith, and many more. SPX also features the Ignatz Awards, a festival prize recognizing outstanding achievement in comics and cartooning. Ignatz winners are chosen by SPX attendees and awarded during the show.
