Lil’ Libros Raises $2.3M in Crowdfunded Investment

Launched in 2014, Lil’ Libros, a bilingual children’s publisher, has raised $2.3 million in equity funding via WeFunder, a crowdfunding site that allows the public to make small equity investments and get a return. This new round of crowdfunded equity investment will be used to fund new Lil’ Libros products and services as well as highlight the lack of multicultural titles in the U.S. book market and promote the support of Latino businesses.

Lil’ Libros was founded by Patty Rodriguez and Ariana Stein after they could not find books Spanish-English bilingual books for their kids. It publishes bilingual titles for children 4-8 years old, and has a backlilst of about 36 titles. Its books are distributed by Baker & Taylor, Follet, Brodart, and Gibbs Smith.
