Ada Limón Takes Reins on 'Slowdown' Podcast from Tracy K. Smith

Poet Ada Limón has been tapped as the new host of the Slowdown podcast, a collaboration between American Public Media and the Poetry Foundation, for its third season, which begins on September 21. She succeeds U.S. poet laureate Tracy K. Smith.

Limón has also signed a new, three-book deal with Milkweed Editions. A new collection, The Hurting Kind, is due next May; Beast: An Anthology of Animal Poems, which Limón will edit, is due in 2024; and Limón's New and Selected Poems will be published in 2025. Limón will record audiobook editions for The Hurting Kind and New and Selected Poems. The deal was brokered by Rob McQuilkin at Massie & McQuilkin.
