Author Sara Gran Launches Dreamland Books
Author Sara Gran has launched the new independent publisher Dreamland Books. Dreamland will publish Sara Gran’s forthcoming works, beginning with The Book of the Most Precious Substance in February 2022, and an additional two to four titles a year from other authors. Gran is the author of seven novels, most recently the third installment in the Claire DeWitt series, The Infinite Blacktop.
In a statement, representatives said that Dreamland was born from Gran's "frustration with the increasingly corporate culture of the new, mega-conglomerate publishing house" and the desire "to have more control over her own work, ensure it stays in print, and give other writers the same option for more creative and financial ownership of their work."
Dreamland will publish trade editions, to be distributed by Ingram.
