Ingram Adds Japan to Global Connect Network

The Ingram Content Group has signed an agreement with Dai Nippon Printing Co. that brings the Japanese giant into the Lightning Source–led print-on-demand and distribution network.

Under the agreement, Japanese publishers will be able to use Dai Nippon to transfer electronic files to other companies in the international network, who will then print books locally using POD technology. Similarly, Dai Nippon will use its POD capability to print books from overseas publishers who are part of the network. In addition to Japan, Ingram’s Global Connect alliance as partners in India, Spain, Italy, Russia, Germany, Poland, China, Brazil and South Korea. 

Books printed at Global Connect locations adhere to the same specifications and quality standards in place at Ingram’s Lightning Source printing facilities worldwide. Ingram maintains file integrity and security, as well as reporting and payment remittance to publishers.
