McSweeney's Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Rehouse the 'Believer'

After being sold to Paradise Media by the University of Nevada Las Vegas, the Believer magazine has been reacquired by its original publisher, McSweeney's. After controversy erupted over the magazine's acquisition, Paradise Media sold the Believer to McSweeney's at a loss.

McSweeney's, which originally launched the Believer in 2003, has now launched the a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to support its efforts to revive the magazine. All donations will cover start-up expenses and the cost of publishing the first four issues of the magazine's new iteration. The publisher plans to release a homecoming issue of the Believer in late November 2022.
