Phyllis A. Tickle Award in Poetry Announced

Paraclete Press announced the establishment of the Phyllis A. Tickle Award in Poetry, honoring its friend, advisor, and member of Paraclete’s editorial board.

Starting in 2016, the award will be given every other year to a poet who has not yet published a book of poetry. The winner will have their first book of poems published by Paraclete Press.

Tickle, who was the founding editor of the religion department at Publishers Weekly, recently wrote that Paraclete is firmly rooted in presenting and curating religious poetry, and the publishing house said the Phyllis A. Tickle Award in Poetry ensures that poetry will remain an essential part of their publishing program for many years to come.
