Random House to Publish Salman Rushdie Memoir

Random House will publish Salman Rushdie's new memoir, Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder, on April 16, 2024.

Knife will mark Rushdie's first time speaking out in detail about the attempt on his life that took place last summer. "This was a necessary book for me to write," said Rushdie in a statement, "a way to take charge of what happened, and to answer violence with art."

The book will be published in print and digital formats in the U.S., with an audiobook edition released simultaneously by Penguin Random House Audio. All rights acquired from Andrew Wylie at The Wylie Agency.
