Inaugural Andy Award Winners Announced

The winners of the inaugural Andy Awards, which honors “outstanding book collaborations” in three nonfiction categories, have been announced. The awards were administered at the Gathering of the Ghosts, billed as “the first-ever national convention of professional ghostwriters,” on January 22 at New York City.

The winning books are:

  • Business and Thought Leadership: Good Power: Leading Positive Change in Our Lives, Work, and World by Ginni Rometty, with Joanne Gordon (Harvard Business Review)
  • Memoir and Narrative Nonfiction: Glimmer: A Story of Survival, Hope, and Healing by Kimberly Shannon Murphy with Genevieve Field (Harper)
  • Prescriptive Nonfiction: Sisterhood Heals: The Transformative Power of Healing in Community by Joy Harden Bradford with Tracey Michae’l Lewis-Giggetts (Ballantine)

Both Gathering of the Ghosts and the Andy Awards are coadministered by the American Society of Journalists and Authors and Gotham Ghostwriters. Judges for this year's award included editors from Macmillan and Simon & Schuster and representatives from Aevitas Creative Management, Empire Literary Agency, Kevin Anderson Associates, and William Morris Endeavor, among others.
