New Richard Osman Mystery Slated for September

Pamela Dorman Books, an imprint of Viking, will publish a new mystery novel by Richard Osman, author of the Thursday Murder Club series, on September 17.

We Solve Murders will "introduce readers to the father-in-law and daughter-in-law detective duo Steve and Amy Wheeler" as they "race around the world as they try to stay one step ahead of a lethal enemy," per a statement from Viking Penguin. Netflix has acquired TV rights to the novel.

Osman's Thursday Murder club series—which comprises The Thursday Murder Club (2020), The Man Who Died Twice (2021), The Bullet that Missed (2022), and The Last Devil to Die (2023)—has sold more than 11 million copies globally, according to the publisher, with Stephen Spielberg's Amblin entertainment to set adapt the first installment.

The publisher calls We Solve Murders "an exciting new chapter for Osman—who promises more Thursday Murder Club shenanigans in the very near future."
