Little, Brown and Company to Publish Emma Donoghue Novel ‘The Wonder’

Reagan Arthur, publisher of Little, Brown and Company, announced the acquisition of a new novel, The Wonder, by award-winning, bestselling author Emma Donoghue. Judith Clain, v-p, editor-in-chief of Little, Brown and Company, acquired World Rights, with the exception of Canada and the U.K. Donoghue was represented in the negotiation by Kathleen Anderson of Anderson Literary Management, and the book is slated for simultaneous English language publication in the fall of 2016. 

Set in the 1850’s rural Ireland, The Wonder tells the riveting story of Anna, an 11-year-old who has stopped eating but remains alive and well, and Lib, an English nurse charged with determining whether the girl is a fraud.
