New Hires, Staff Changes at Melville House

Melville House publishers Valerie Merians and Dennis Johnson announced several new staff changes and additions at the company, including news that publicity director Julia Fleischaker has been named director of marketing and publicity.

As part of the reorganization of that program under Fleischaker, Melville has hired Chad Felix, formerly a bookseller at Word Books and digital coordinator doing social media for the New York Public Library. Felix is the company’s new manager of direct sales and library marketing.

Ena Brdjanovic, formerly a digital marketing coordinator at Harper Collins, has joined the company as director of digital marketing and editor of Melville House’s acclaimed blog, MobyLives.

Lastly, Kait Howard, formerly a publicist at Thames & Hudson’s New York office, has joined the company as a publicist.

The changes in staff arrive just after Melville House moved into a new office space in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood.
