Forum to Publish Alaska Senator’s Debut Book
Forum Books editorial director Derek Reed has acquired world rights to Alaska Republican senator Lisa Murkowski’s debut book, Far from Home: An Alaskan Senator Faces the Extreme Climate of Washington, D.C., written with Charles Wohlforth. Gail Ross of WME handled the deal. Forum will publish Far from Home on June 24.
Per a release, Far From Home “tells the candid story of how [Murkowski] learned to adapt to the harsh climate of Washington, D.C., and issues a fervent appeal for a politics grounded in compromise and compassion.”
Murkowski has challenged the Trump administration on several pivotal issues during his two administrations, recently urging colleagues to reassert their constitutional authority amid the administration's mass firings of federal employees and severe budget cuts, as well as denouncing the decision to pardon January 6 rioters.
The book comes on the heels of Penguin’s expansion of its Christian publishing program, which also saw the publisher devote additional resources to its Forum imprint.
