Cynthia Erivo to Narrate New ‘Wicked’ Audiobook

Cynthia Erivo will narrate a new audiobook edition of Gregory Maguire’s Wicked, which will be published on July 1 by Recorded Books, RBmedia’s flagship audio brand. 

The casting follows the success of the book’s recent film adaptation, which saw Erivo star as Elphaba opposite Ariana Grande’s Glinda. For her performance, Erivo received Academy Award, Golden Globe, SAG, Critics’ Choice, NAACP, and BAFTA nominations. Throughout her career, Erivo has also won such awards as a Grammy, Emmy, and Tony.

“I feel deeply connected to Elphaba,” Erivo said in a press release. “We have been on quite the journey together, and now I’m eager to begin an adventure with her whilst exploring the full world of Wicked and its myriad of other characters in the audiobook.”
