Song Cave’s Annual ‘Photo Fundraiser’ Returns
The Song Cave, the nonprofit Brooklyn-based small press, has announced the return of its annual “photo fundraiser,” which will run from April 22–May 6. The theme of this year's fundraiser is “The Morning.”
“Each year we reach out to some of our favorite writers, artists, musicians, and poets for a photograph to use in our annual fundraiser,” the press said in announcing the fundraiser. “Out of the kindness of their hearts and their belief in supporting small-scale independent publishing, these wonderful people have contributed images that will be printed as 8x10 inch c-prints, each in an edition of 15.”
This year's photo prints were donated by such authors as Ben Lerner, Eileen Myles, Jonathan Lethem, Lucy Ives, Lucy Sante, Olivia Laing, Rachel Kushner, and Wayne Koestenbaum.
The proceeds from sales of the prints will go directly toward the publishing and distribution of Song Cave's future titles. Song Cave will also share a portion of proceeds with Doctors Without Borders.
