Tim Paulson Named EVP, Publisher of Andrews McMeel

Andrews McMeel has named Tim Paulson as EVP and publisher, effective October 21. The appointment was announced by Andrews McMeel CEO Kirsty Melville.

Paulson joins Andrews McMeel from University of Kansas Press, where he served as director. He has also held executive positions at HarperCollins Christian Publishing as VP and publisher of Nelson Books, as well as with Brentwood Studios and Augsburg Fortress Publishers.

“Tim’s exceptional experience and entrepreneurial spirit make him an ideal candidate as Andrews McMeel’s publisher,” said Melville, who previously served in the publisher role. “We look forward to his leadership and contributions to continue to advance the business and share the work of the remarkable talent we represent.”

“I truly look forward to building on the success that Andrews McMeel has achieved over the years through a creator-first and culturally attuned approach to an evolving media and publishing landscape,” said Paulson. “Many things change, but listening to your partners and getting close to audiences is key to ongoing success.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Andrews McMeel’s acquisition of Quirk Books.
