European Literature Night Returns to NYC
The Czech Center NY and European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) will host its seventh annual European Literature Night (ELN) at the Ukranian Institute in Manhattan on October 23.
Free and open to the public, ELN will bring together 13 authors, each from different European countries, to celebrate the English translations of their latest works. The event will also feature performances, readings, and panel discussions moderated by PEN America. Participating authors include Artem Chapeye, Jonas Hassen Khemiri, Marek Torčík, and Katherine Vaz, among others.
“This evening represents the power of literature to bridge cultures, languages, and histories,” said Tereza Porybná, director of the Czech Center New York. “We invite translators, scholars, and literary professionals to engage with these remarkable European voices.”
