Spotify Audiobook Selects Announces Inaugural Titles

Spotify Audiobooks, the streaming app's in-house publishing platform, has announced the inaugural Spotify Audiobook Selects cohort. The initiative, originally launched in March, is geared toward "novelette"-length stories (10,000-40,000 words) by self-published authors, and will release its first 16 titles on November 4.

Spotify Audiobook Selects is a global program to which any author with an English-language short-form story who controls their own audio rights can submit. For selected stories, Spotify pays authors an advance and royalties, manages all aspects of production, and distributes to major audiobook retailers. The next submissions window will open on November 4, with a focus on "swoon-worthy tropes."
