Liveright Launches ‘Wings’ Auction for Indies
Liveright has launched a signed, limited-edition run of Paul McCartney’s Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, an oral history edited by Ted Widmer that explores the rise of the Beatles, which will be auctioned off in an effort to support independent bookstores around the country.
Participating bookstores include BookWorks in Albuquerque, N.M.; Bookends & Beginnings in Evanston, Ill.; the Secret Garden Bookshop in Seattle, Wa.; and Copperfield’s Books in California, which plans to donate 20% of its proceeds to Ruthless Kindness. The entire list of the 175 indies participating in this promotion can be found here.
With a print run of 175, the limited-edition copies of Wings includes a 24-page, bound-in, full-color booklet of artwork featuring the covers of the Wings-era albums and singles; an exclusive vinyl; a special pin and an embroidered souvenir patch; and a deluxe slipcase.
