Jeffrey Mathews to Head Scholastic Education
Jeffrey Mathews has been appointed president of Scholastic Education. In addition to his new role, Mathews will retain his current roles as EVP and chief growth officer of Scholastic, and will continue reporting to Scholastic president and CEO Peter Warwick.
Mathews has served as interim head of Scholastic Education since June 2025. In his expanded role, he will focus “on deepening our impact in schools, communities and homes by sharpening our strategy and delivering high-impact learning experiences that unlock students’ potential and support educators,” per a statement.
“Scholastic Education is a core part of Scholastic’s mission and a meaningful long-term opportunity for earnings growth,” Warwick added. “We’ve made significant progress under [Mathews’s] leadership and appointing him to this role builds on that momentum—strengthening near-term execution while defining a clear strategy to fully realize the division’s long-term potential.”
