NYPL’s Schomburg Center Unveils ‘100 Black Voices’

In celebration of its centennial, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at the New York Public Library has revealed a curated selection of 100 books written by Black authors. Each title on the list has been recommended by such writers, artists, and journalists as Jelani Cobb, Glenn Ligon, Imani Perry, and Alison Stewart, among others.

Through February 28, NYPL card holders can immediately access e-book and audiobook versions of the titles on the 100 Black Voices list. Featured books include Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Between the World and Me; Franz Fanon’s Black Skin, White Masks; Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings; and Toni Morrison’s Sula
