Joy Gorman to Advise Rise Literary on Page-to-Screen
Hybrid publisher Rise Literary has announced a consulting partnership with TV producer Joy Gorman, who has worked on such series adaptations as 13 Reasons Why and Netflix's forthcoming Little House on the Prairie, with the goal of "expanding its book-to-screen ambitions," per a statement.
As part of the advisory partnership, Joy Coalition—Gorman’s own IP development company—and Rise Literary are also working to launch their own publishing imprint that will “connect TV and film with trade publication, ebook, and audiobook opportunities.”
The first collaborative project between the two companies will be The Revenge Party, an upcoming suspense novel by Emily Paulson releasing May 2026.
Founded by Kristen McGuiness and distributed by Simon & Schuster, Rise Literary focuses on coaching emerging writers—primarily women—to become “celebrated authors,” per a statement.
