Aethon to Publish Shadow Slave Series

Rhett Bruno at Aethon Books and Taro Nakagawa, representing Aethon, acquired English language print rights to Guiltythree’s Shadow Slave series from digital platform WebNovel. Shadow Slave is the most popular original fiction on WebNovel, according to Aethon, with more than 92 million reads. The “gritty, dark fantasy adventure series” follows a “nameless street rat” who is initiated into an elite group that must use their supernatural powers to fight for survival, per the publisher. 

The first installment, Child of Shadows, will publish in October in deluxe hardcover. Aethon plans to publish further volumes for “many years to come,” a spokesperson for the publisher said.
