Random House Sets Gloria Steinem Memoir
Random House has announced that it will publish Gloria Steinem’s new memoir An Unexpected Life on September 22. VP and executive editor Jamia Wilson had acquired world rights to the book from Kim G. Schefler at Levine Plotkin.
The memoir, according to the publisher, traces Steinem’s “early life and the unlikely path that led her to become one of the world’s most influential voices for equality.” The book also explores the “formative experiences that awakened her political consciousness.”
Aside from this upcoming memoir, Steinem is the author of My Life on the Road, Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions, Revolution from Within, and The Truth Will Set You Free, But First It Will Piss You Off!. She also co-founded Ms. magazine in 1971.
An Unexpected Life will be published in hardcover with a simultaneous audiobook release from PRH Audio.
