Penguin Press Promotes Ginny Smith Younce to VP, Editor-in-Chief
Penguin Press has announced the promotion of Ginny Smith Younce to VP and editor-in-chief, effective immediately.
Smith Younce, who joined Penguin Press in 2009, previously served as VP and executive editor at the imprint. Her authors include Jonathan Haidt, Celeste Ng, Nate Silver, Emily Oster, David Levering Lewis, Derek Thompson, Pamela Druckerman, and senator Raphael G. Warnock.
In a statement, Penguin Press president and publisher Scott Moyers said Smith Younce's list is "among the most formidable in the industry," adding that she is "the ideal colleague: generous with her time and spirit, instinctively nurturing of the gifts and morale of others, with a broad publishing vision that is both democratic and unwavering in its commitment to quality.”
The appointment comes just over a month after the death Penguin Press president and editor-in-chief Ann Godoff, who founded the imprint in 2003.
