'The Vegetarian' Wins Man Booker International

The winner of the 2016 Man Booker International Prize is The Vegetarian (Hogarth), written by Han Kang and translated from the Korean by Deborah Smith. Boyd Tonkin, chairman of Man Booker International Prize 2016 judging panel, wrote in his citation: "This compact, exquisite and disturbing book will linger long in the minds, and maybe the dreams, of its readers." The writer and debut translator will split the award's £50,000 prize. Click here for a review of the novel.
