PEN Joins NSA Lawsuit

The PEN American Center has filed a lawsuit, alongside several other organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union, challenging the National Security Agency’s mass surveillance program, often referred to as "upstream" surveillance. 

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Maryland, challenges the "NSA’s violations of plaintiffs’ privacy rights under the Fourth Amendment and infringements on First Amendment rights of free expression," according to PEN.
