Rather than wait for the second volume of Clay Blair's authoritative history, Hitler's U-Boat War, to publish its voluminous bibliography, Random House editor Bob Loomis wanted to make it available right away. But adding 80 pages of citations to a $40, 800-page book created price and production problems. Publicist Alexa Cassanos told PW that putting the bibliography on the Web of was "a creative way to save money and trees."
