Those who rejoiced in the book and movie of Olivia Goldsmith's First Wives Club will be pleased to hear that a reprise has been arranged. The author's agent, Nick Ellison, concluded a seven-figure deal with HarperCollins for Goldsmith's next two books, the first of which will be a sequel, Wives, Again. Editing the sequel will be Harper's trade publishing director, Marjorie Braman. Ellison made one of the bigger Frankfurt Fair deals for German rights last week, selling the book to Goldmann for a preemptive bid of $275,000. Other rights are under negotiation. Meanwhile, the second book in the deal, Bad Boys, has been sold to the movies for $1.5 million.

Also under the auspices of Braman, Harper executive editor Dan Conaway has bought an unfinished novel from Ellison, described as "Dominick Dunne meets Mario Puzo." It's titled House of Lords, and revolves around the meeting of two worlds: New York moneyed society and the Mob. The author is award-winning TV scriptwriter Philip Rosenberg, whose previous fictional outing was Tygers of Wrath.
