Jonathan Bulkeley, currently managing director of the U.K. operation of the AOL-Bertelsmann joint venture in Europe, has been named CEO of barnesandnoble.com. Bulkeley will join a management team that consists of barnesandnoble.com chairman Len Riggio and chief operating officer Jeff Killeen. Bulkeley, who will be based in New York and who starts his new job in January, will report to Riggio.
Bulkeley will assume the role currently being handled by Steve Riggio. Riggio will resume his full-time duties as vice-chairman of Barnes &Noble Inc. and will stay involved with the strategic direction of barnesandnoble.com, especially as it relates to B&N's retail business and acquisitions.
