The Penguin Putnam Books for Young Readers marketing department has been restructured to integrate formerly separate marketing groups into three segments: trade and mass merchandise retailers; institutional; and on-line users. The announcement was made last week by Audrey Cusson, senior v-p and director of marketing for the children's division.

Under the trade and mass merchandise umbrella, Kathy Ward has been promoted to v-p, director of trade and mass merchandise marketing; she will oversee retail and online marketing. Enid Chaban has been named director of hardcover, paperback and interactive marketing; Leslie Gallager has been named director of licensed, media and merchandise marketing; and Bettina Seifert will continue as associate director of children's online marketing.

In the institutional area, the following promotions were made: Lucy Del Priore was named director of educational marketing and Susan Hawk was named associate director of library marketing.

In publicity, Tim Moses has been named director of hardcover publicity and national media; Peggy Guthart-Strauss was named director of publicity for paperback, licensed and branded properties; and Katrina Weidknecht was promoted to associate director of publicity, author tours and events. All will report to Cusson.

Creative services will be headed by Ranse Ransone, promoted to director of the marketing design group.
