Eileen Dengler, former ABA convention director and a principal of conference management company Reading Enterprises, has been named executive director of the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association, effective November 10. She has been interim trade show director since July and will continue to be responsible for the show.

NAIBA president Fern Jaffe of Paperbacks Plus, Bronx, N.Y., said the board was "thrilled with Eileen's ability to step in and produce a trade show on such short notice. We look forward to working with her as we grow the association." Dengler and Diana Wells took over management of the show after Larry Robin of Robin's Bookstore, Philadelphia, resigned as NAIBA executive director this spring.

Besides putting on other trade shows and conferences, Dengler has been the driving force behind the Literary Congress, the annual national trade show and bookseller conference held in successive years in Nashville, Tenn., and Ph nix, Ariz. She indicated recently that the congress is being "put on hold."
