John Wiley & Sons' Australian subsidiary has signed a letter of intent to acquire Wrightbooks Pty. Ltd., a Melbourne-based publisher of personal investment books for the Australian market. The deal is expected to close in July.

Wrightbooks publishes about 50 books per year and has a backlist of approximately 120 titles. Peter Donoughue, managing director of Wiley Australia, said the Wrightbooks purchase will "accelerate the growth of our list of local titles" and will expand Wiley's global presence in business and finance publishing.
