James Bradley, whose Flags of Our Fathers was a big hit last year for Bantam, is moving to Little, Brown for his next, just signed by LB editor-in-chief Michael Pietsch. It's called Flyboys, and is another WWII tale, this time about a group of U.S. Navy fliers who were shot down over the Pacific, and the long-kept secret of what happened to them in Japanese hands. Pietsch, who bought North American, plus first serial and audio, from Owen Laster and Wayne Kabak at William Morris, said the "powerful and moving story" is one of extreme actions on both sides in the war. LB executive editor Geoff Shandler will edit the book, which is scheduled for 2003.
