Last October, when Oprah chose Drowning Ruth by Christina Schwarz as her book club pick, the first novelist went on to enjoy a 12-week tenure on PW's charts, two weeks in the #1 slot. That's where the trade paper edition sits in its second week on the list (this week's bestseller list was already on press when we realized it misstates the number of weeks). The Ballantine Reader's Circle edition has 375,000 copies in print after three trips to press. Schwarz kicked off her tour in San Francisco on August 6, before visiting Portland and Seattle. She resumes September 4 in Chicago, then on to Louisville, Ky., and Boston.
