We think it's a record—there are nine mass market bestsellers debuting on this week's chart, and seven of them are among the top 10. Another first-time event is a Nora Roberts achievement—two of her new books vied for first place. Time and Again , written under the Roberts signature for Silhouette, inched out Seduction in Death , under the J.D. Robb pseudonym for Berkley. There are 1.5 million copies in print for Time and Again, and Seduction has 950,000. Certainly the most prolific writer around, Roberts has beaten her own record of eight mass market bestsellers in a single year, which she has accomplished for three years in a row; so far in 2001, she has had 10 mass market hits, and that doesn't include books written under her J.D. Robb pseudonym or any of her hardcover bestsellers.
