An ace in the science fiction game, that is. Orson Scott Card's latest bestseller, Shadow Puppets, from Tor, enjoys a second week on the PW list; it had a 150,000-copy first printing. His first short story, "Ender's Game," was published 25 years ago in the August 1977 issue of Analog and in 1985 was developed into the Hugo- and Nebula —Award—winning novel of the same name (to date, that book has sold more than one million copies). Card will write the screenplay that will bring Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow to the big screen, from Warner Bros. (Wolfgang Petersen will direct). He began his tour for Shadow Puppets on August 26 and will be visiting stores through November 14.
