Ready the sugar tongs and Earl Grey. It's that time again. Nominations are being accepted to determine the four authors who will speak at the third annual Audio Publishers Association/Book Expo America Audiobook Tea at this year's BEA in Los Angeles. The tea will be held on Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2003.
Each Audiobook Tea author will speak for approximately 10 minutes, and remarks should include the author's experiences with audiobook publishing and/or listening. Past speakers have included Walter Mosley and Janet Evanovich.
Publishers wishing to suggest an author for the event must submit a brief statement about why an author should be considered, a brief author biography (one or two paragraphs) and a description of the author's most recent or forthcoming audiobook. (There is no limit to the number of author submissions per publishing house). Publisher contact information must also be included with each submission. Publishers will assume all transportation and accommodations costs. Submissions should be sent to: Laura Malone, Carol Fass Publicity, 26 W. 17th St., New York, N.Y. 10011; e-mail lmalone@fasspr.com; fax (212) 691-5012. Submissions must be received by Friday, December 6 at 5 p.m. EST.
Final selections will be made by the American Booksellers Association committee over the coming months, and publishers will be notified by mid-January as to whether one of their authors has been chosen.
