Charles Barkley has enjoyed several successful careers, beginning with his stint as basketball MVP, followed by a second success as a sports commentator. And now he has conquered the bestseller charts with I May Be Wrong but I Doubt It, in which he offers his opinions on a wide range of subjects, from the sex scandals in the Catholic Church and corporate corruption to black people in sports. Random House reports more than 150,000 copies in print. Barkley will do a second round of national publicity for the book in mid-December. In his first round, his national media appearances included Oprah, The Today Show and Late Night with David Letterman. He also did a six-city tour. Not wanting to miss a good marketing opportunity, the savvy promoter had a camera crew film the first day of his book tour (locale: New York City); the footage appeared on his new TNT talk show, Listen Up.
