TOKYO POP Steve Galloway has been named executive director of development. In this newly created position he will help develop and sell the manga publisher's intellectual properties to film and television. Prior experience includes positions at Nelvana, Universal Music Group and Pioneer Laser Entertainment.

WARNER FAITH Michael Briggs was appointed executive director of sales and marketing. He has previously worked for Dicksons Bookstores, The Parable Group and BriggsCreative, his own development company.... Robert Nealeigh, former v-p of sales for Standard Publishing, was appointed director of sales.

LOYOLA PRESS Jim Manney was promoted to editorial trade director from senior acquisitions editor.... Joe Durepos, former independent agent specializing in religion, has been named senior acquisitions editor.... Matthew Diener has been appointed managing editor and Melissa Crane, formerly of Baker & Taylor, has been appointed trade marketing manager.

CREATIVE PUBLISHING INTERNATIONAL Karen Kreiger, former marketing director for Thorsons and Element Books, was named v-p of custom, international, foreign markets, special sales and telephone sales.

SANFORD J. GREENBURGER ASSOCIATES Johanna Castillo has been hired to develop a list of Latino clients for the literary agency. The former Spanish teacher and book editor, who was born in Ecuador, was previously at the Laura Dail Literary Agency.

SCHOLASTIC Lisa Tomasello has been appointed Scholastic Mass Market's first director of retail development, following more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience with Random House, Simon & Schuster and Golden Books.

HYPERION BOOKS FOR CHILDREN Alexandra Balzer has been promoted to executive editor following six years editing and developing titles such as the Artemis Fowl trilogy. She will now be responsible for oversight of the Hyperion teen program as well.....Helen Perelman has been promoted to executive editor and will focus on developing existing paperback properties into book series and creating new series and reading programs. She previously oversaw planning and strategy for Volo/Hyperion children's paperbacks.

HARPER DESIGN INTERNATIONAL Ali Kokmen, former marketing manager at Watson-Guptill, has been named sales and marketing manager in the U.S. and will work with commissioned sales groups throughout the country.

HOUGHTON MIFFLIN Linda Magram has been named marketing director, Walter Lorraine and Houghton Mifflin Books for Children. She was most recently v-p, director of marketing for children's books at Little, Brown.

1ST BOOKS LIBRARY W. Herbert Senft II has been appointed v-p of the print-on-demand and e-book publisher. The former principal at Gazelle TechVentures was founder and president of Power Way Inc.
