As part of the restructuring of HarperCollins UK, the company has created two new divisions, HarperPress and HarperFiction.

Caroline Michel, a deputy publisher at Random UK, has been appointed managing director and publisher of HarperPress. The newly formed unit will publish literary fiction and nonfiction titles under the Flamingo, Fourth Estate and HarperCollins imprints. Christopher Potter has been named associate publisher and editor-in-chief of HarperPress. Potter will also continue as co-publisher of Fourth Estate in the U.S. and will acquire titles for all HarperPress imprints.

The HarperFiction unit, which will publish general fiction, crime, thriller and women's fiction books, will be headed by Amanda Ridout, who is HC UK's managing director for general books. Lynne Drew has been named publisher.

Late last year, the company formed HarperEntertainment to house the company's commercial nonfiction and media-related titles under the direction of Trevor Dolby.
