Sophie Kinsella's third and strongest bestseller, Shopaholic Ties the Knot, featuring super shopper Becky Bloomwood, is following in the footsteps of her previous international bestsellers—Confessions of a Shopaholic (which has almost 600,000 copies in print after 23 trips to press) and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan (more than 350,000 copies after 12 printings). The new novel has more than 370,000 copies in print after four trips to press, all within the first month of publication. The Delta paperback was launched with national publicity that included extensive review coverage, including Modern Bride, People and Marie Claire, an excerpt in Bride's and an upcoming feature profile in USA Today. Kinsella traveled from England to New York at the beginning of the month to promote the new book at an event sponsored by the Condé Nast Bridal Group at Barney's New York and drew a packed house at the Barnes & Noble on the Upper West Side. She is working on a new novel, Can You Keep a Secret?, scheduled for 2004. The publisher assures Shopaholic fans that Becky (and her credit cards) will return for another adventure soon after.
