Vivian Antonangeli is one of four people appointed to management spots at Riverdeep's new Learning Company Books division. Antonangeli, whose previous positions in children's publishing included serving as president of both Grosset & Dunlap and Reader's Digest Children's Publishing, has been named sales director for the new children's book publisher. Riverdeep, the giant Novato, Calif.—based software publisher, formed Learning Company Books last month (News, Mar. 10).

In addition to Antonangeli's appointment, Learning Company Books named Margaret De Santos managing editor. De Santos has been in publishing for 15 years, most recently as general manager of online publishing for O'Reilly & Associates. Anthony Thue, most recently with PeoplePC, has been named associate editor, and Lara Starr has been appointed associate marketing manager. She had been licensing and marketing manager for Cedco. De Santos, Thue and Starr will be based in Novato, while Antonangeli will work from New York.
