Peachpit press, Pearson's Berkeley, Calif.—based computer book publisher, will team up with TechTV, a technology-oriented cable TV network, to publish a series of books under the TechTV Press imprint. The titles will focus on technology in the lives of consumers.

TechTV Press books previously were published under an agreement with Que, another Pearson tech imprint. Now the cable network, which specializes in offbeat lifestyle stories on the uses of technology, will work with Peachpit to publish books "on a wide variety of technology topics—not just computers," said Peachpit publicist Kim Lombardi.

TTV Press will publish about 10 titles this year, said Lombardi. The first TechTV Press title under the new agreement is Security Alert: Stories of Real People Protecting Themselves from Identity Theft, Viruses and Scams by Becky Worley, a TechTV on-air personality. Other titles coming in 2003 include Tech of Golf, Wired for Sex and Sell It on eBay.
