On November 11, the global chronicler of record-breaking achievements was able to boast a record for itself. That day marked the sale of the 100-millionth copy of The Guinness Book of World Records. The annual was first published in 1955; the 2004 edition is now printed in more than 100 countries and 20 languages. Guinness lists other books that have reached the 100-million mark, including the Bible, the Qur'an, Quotations from Mao Tse-Tung and the Harry Potter series.
