Another figure from the book world, former editor Liz Perle, who chronicled her dissatisfaction with the business in When Work Doesn't Work Any More, has turned her attention to work's chief motivation in a book she has just signed with Henry Holt's Jennifer Barth. It's called Money: A Memoir and examines the relationship between women and money, as seen in Perle's own life and in the lives of a number of women she has interviewed. North American rights were bought from Richard Pine at Arthur Pine Associates, and Holt plans to publish in spring 2006.
