St. Martin's Press handled Joseph Finder's Paranoia like a winner from the onset. More than 9,000 galleys went out; the author traveled to several trade shows pre-pub; and the book was the inaugural "Read It First" title from SMP (five excerpts over five days right before pub date were sent to 6,000 booksellers, librarians and consumers). Rave reviews and an eight-city tour were among the finishing touches. The publisher reports four printings adding up to 140,000 copies.
