It looks as though Mary Higgins Clark is settling in for another run on PW's fiction list, as her 30th book, Nighttime Is My Time, debuts at #3—a pretty terrific landing, we'd say, considering that the top two spots are held by the ubiquitous Dan Brown and the Left Behind duo, LaHaye and Jenkins. (It will be interesting to see if Clark can top her previous runs on these charts: last year's The Second Time Around was on for nine weeks, while 2002's Daddy's Little Girl enjoyed a 10-week run.) With more than 755,000 copies in print after five trips to press, publisher Simon & Schuster is very pleased. "Right out of the gate, Mary's sales are up across all channels—certainly not the norm these days," said S&S publisher David Rosenthal. Clark kicked off her tour with appearances on Today and Imus in the Morning, a 20-city radio tour and the first of more than 20 signings scheduled in April and May. Pocket's mass market edition of The Second Time Around, meanwhile, marks its second week on our list (copies in print: 1.6 million).
